[livejournal.com profile] whatifoundthere has put together a fascinating poll about privilege and gender. The poll is intended to help her think about how to teach gender to her undergraduates, but the questions and comments are extremely thought-provoking in their own right. If I've ever had an argument or debate with you in which gender privilege or male privilege was mentioned, I'd recommend you take a look at this post, because it approaches the issue far, far more sensitively and clearly than I've ever been able to. Go, fill out the poll, help [livejournal.com profile] whatifoundthere with her thinking about how to teach this, and do some thinking yourself. :)

The comments on the previous post introducing the gender privilege topic are also well worth reading.

(... though they'll be friends-locked to some of us, unfortunately.)

Sorry about that. The poll came about in response to some frustrating experiences I had in the classroom, and I make a point of friendslocking any post where I talk about work. It doesn't mean I'm not interested in hearing from a wide variety of people, though :)
