alternative essay-writing strategies
Nov. 19th, 2004 05:35 pmBored with the traditional method of, you know, words and syntax and stuff, I have decided to submit the rest of my essays this term in artpad form. I can tell this is going to be a profitable enterprise - I've done two in the last half hour:
To what extent are the portraits of the Essenes in the accounts of Josephus and Philo consciously Hellenising?
'The opposition between Greek and Roman traditions largely disappeared as Classical culture became the combined culture of the entire imperium Romanum' (Zanker, 1995). What implications does this assessment have for our understanding of identity in the Second Sophistic, and are these implications valid when it comes to identity in art?

on 2004-11-19 09:47 am (UTC)It reminds me of the 'picture is worth a thousand words' excuse, and is most entertaining. Thankyou.
I also have many thing to do, which presently consists of a lot of procrastination and 'oh, I have a headache, I can't possibly do a single thing today'
I need a strategy, yes.
Good luck with finding your words.
Much love,
Jess

on 2004-11-19 09:56 am (UTC)if what you have to do is work-related, I recommend spending ten minutes of your procrastination summing up the main themes of your essay in artpad. It's therapeutic, and also remarkably clarifying - like the exercise where you answer the question in a sentence if you're having difficulty starting.
hope your headache improves. Ibuprofen and orange juice, and ginseng rather than caffeine! *hugs*
