Wax-and-wane.org
Aug. 19th, 2006 05:13 pmAfter the best part of a month of what's felt like non-stop work on it, my art portfolio, wax-and-wane.org, is online. Feel free to pass the link on to anyone you think might be interested.
And because I'm forever optimistic: if, after looking at it, you want to ask me about a commission or make an offer for any of my stuff, I will love you forever. If you were already considering commissioning me feel free to let me know you're still interested and what sort of budget and timescale you're on.
Right! Now that that's done, I can start doing things like actual painting (and posting regularly to livejournal again for the first time in weeks. You lucky, lucky people). Yay! Painting! Considering I gave up academia to become a professional freelance artist, what with modelling and making websites I haven't actually done that much art yet. This is all about to change :)

on 2006-08-19 04:57 pm (UTC)should point out you've got a typo in your info section, in iconography, where you've spelt producing as produving!

"Use the links at the bottom view menus" - missing a 'to'?
"individual pages will appear in this window." - it's all in one window. You mean frame, but I'd just say 'will appear here' or possibly 'will appear on the right'.
"Helen is a druid, a saxophonist, a folk singer, and a lover of corsetry, art galleries, river pubs, religious texts and real ale. When not making art she works as a fetish model." - this is brilliant. The next time anyone asks me about my gf, I'm just going to paste them that :-D
There's something else I want to talk to you about re: the site / your art!work, but not on a public post... remind me at the party, if you remember :)

on 2006-08-19 05:38 pm (UTC)By all means think about it - drop me a comment or email if you want to chat to me about it, and we can chat about what sort of thing you might want and how much it might cost. :)
I've drawn adam before (http://www.fox-fires.org/lj/asw909-drinking.JPG), so it shouldn't be a problem.

on 2006-08-19 09:18 pm (UTC)I believe, incidentally, that the picture frame has now been made. In fact I know it has. All being well, The Rising of the Sea should (finally!) be hanging in our house within a month. Sorry it's taken so long!!

on 2006-08-20 01:56 pm (UTC)One thing wrt the legalities, I'm assuming that you've gone the sole trader route. I know a sole trader is required to print name and address on all business stationery, but I'm not sure if the same applies to websites. You might want to check on that, I didn't see it on there but may have missed it.
