thankyou!! Actually this is my first experiment with pale colours - I made a conscious effort to avoid blacks, purples and reds this time, and shall nicely match the ice sculptures and winter crystal theme at Jesus may ball. I'm thrilled with it; I only just took it off. Although I'm still wearing the shoes.

I was about to add 'that last shot isn't too flattering, though', and then I thought 'argh, that would seem kind of mean considering it's the one that shows most of your face'. But then I thought 'enh, since when was I ever tactful' and commented anyway.

I can see what you mean. There were a number of full-face shots, in which I was either looking directly at the camera, smiling, or gazing wistfully into the distance, but they all seemed a little ... I don't know ... overdone. Exactly the kind of shot you'd expect from someone who was trying to seem pretty. I do the sexy eye-contact-with-camera thing rather well, but it seems vain to put it on livejournal. I know that's ridiculous considering this post is pure vanity anyway, but my mind runs on strange logic.

I really wanted to take these in the quad at Downing, since the sandstone would have complemented the dress rather wonderfully, but I was shy, and so instead we hid around the back of Kenny B where no-one could see me pose.

aw, thankyou! The shoes are Alex's responsibility, since I would never have bought them if she hadn't been with me. I am absolved of blame. But they're beautiful, aren't they? I've never spent that much money on shoes before, but I think every girl should have at least one pair of really beautiful shoes.

As for money : thanks to today's little escapade I am now £460 in the red, but that doesn't matter, because it's for the sake of beauty, darling.

yeah i agree about the shoe bit. i LOVE sexy sassy and sadly expensive shoes, but i know i will feel so guilty if i buy a pair now, because i hardly wear the ones i have.

I fear I'm being corrupted by Alex's shoe addiction. The money wasn't as bad as it sounds - I was £300 in debt anyway, being an impoverished student and all (and buying reading tickets... tch)

To be honest I don't know a single woman who doesn't have at least a teeny bit of a fetish for shoes. xxxx

Of course not. I've been wearing them all day and they're just getting more and more comfortable. In fact I've decided I need a kneelength polkadot summer dress to wear with them at my party, but I think I might have to be strict with myself on that account. Iain loves anything that reveals my figure because he is male. I'm getting very excited about my party, by the way, although I am on the horns of the following alliterative dilemma: should there be punting during the day while people picnic, which would cost £4 per hour per punt, (you can easily fit four people on a punt) or nocturnal punting, since you can hire a punt all night for only £9? I suppose it can be decided on the day, but still, I prefer thinking about such things to learning Plato. love you. xxx

everyone wants my shoes! I am wearing them again today and am even more enamoured. I dreamed last night about olive green shoes with bows and a floaty white gypsy skirt, but ebay will not oblige me with them. I might have to go charity shopping for slips later. It's a perfect sunny day.

Those shoes are absolutely delicious, I want to take them home and put them on top of a perfectly iced tiered cake, as a sort of centre piece. The dress is beautiful too, but I reserve my 'favourite' award for the shoes: perfect fairy-tale-having shoes, I think.

actually when I saw them I thought "wedding shoes"! If I am still a 6 when I get married and have not suddenly become rich and bought many more nice white shoes, I will wear these at my wedding.
