It did look almost unreal. I took those at about 9am, and the long shadows probably give it the strange, not-quite-twilight effect. I absolutely love the quality of light on snowy mornings; brighter with all the snow reflecting the sun, but pale, somehow, and all the shadows blue. There's nothing like it.
